Double Converging Collimator
Throughout the years, many types of Neutron Double Converging Collimators have been produced by JJ X-Ray. The double converging collimator is an advanced radial collimator where foils are angled both in the vertical and horizontal plane and often with very small angular foil separation.
As with our Radial Collimators, they include intermediate collimation systems over larger angular ranges and finer collimation systems over smaller angular ranges. See also examples in our collimator catalog.
Especially with our larger designs, limiting the total system weight has been at the center of our attention.

Collimator with Cryocooler
A cold head collimator option has been added to our collimator portfolio. The collimator consists of beryllium wedges in a frame of copper placed inside a vacuum vessel. The cryocooler that is positioned on the top of the vacuum vessel works as a close-cycle cryostat that will cool the beryllium wedges via its connection to the copper frame.
