Installation at National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II)

We are extremely proud of our latest installation National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II).  Sneak a peek on our CDI Beamline Two-Detector Motion System installation while testing.

Our delivery consists of two individually moving beams with a length of 10.5 meters and a weight of 5000 kg each. Each beam carries a detector (not part of our delivery) that moves longitudinally, vertically and can be tilted (pitch). Linear motion has a precision of approximately 5 μm and rotational translation less than 5 mrad. Our solution leverages industrial air pads for the angular motion around the sample and advanced detector position compensation via an alignment system using a laser and CCD camera as well as inclinometers. The motions, visual input and position correction are all seamlessly integrated through a Beckhoff Automation PLC.
