Over the last 25 years, JJ X-Ray has designed a large portfolio of slit systems used at x-ray and neutron facilities all over the world. Our top priority is to give the customer the best solution whether they need the slit system to be standard, modified or customized.

General Features

• Blade motion: Individually moving blades (IB) or blades moved in pairs defining the aperture size and translation movement for each dimension (AT).
• Position of Aperture in slit body: Centered (C), Off-Center (F), Asymmetric (A).
• Position of blades: The blades can define any size aperture within the gap and are typically fully overlapping.
• Number of blades: Normally the slits hold four blades but two blades are possible on request (DEMI-version).
• Slit Operation: In air (AIR), high vacuum (HV) or ultra-high vacuum (UHV, < 10^-8 mbar).

Passive and Active cooling

Sometimes the total power of the beam is slightly too high for a standard slit system. In many cases, it is enough to use passive cooling (copper braids) to solve the heat issue. At present, we have a version of IB-C50-AIR and IB-C30-HV suitable for a heat load up to 5 Watt per blade. PT100 sensors are added for heat monitoring.

We also offer HV (up to 50W) and UHV Slits (up to 4000W) with active cooling.

If needed, JJ X-Ray offers heat transfer analysis to calculate the temperature based on a specific heat load.

J X-Ray has been testing single crystal blades at Petra III, P10. After analyzing the exciting observations, we will publish our conclusions on this website. Our most sold versions are 2 mm blades with Gallium Arsenide, Silicon, and Indium Phospate.
